Frequently Asked Questions

Is flight school An alternative to college?

Yes! While some pilots choose to attend college, flight school can be a direct path to a professional aviation career. At TREXAIR, students can start training at 14 or often many start right out of high school and be earning money as a flight instructor or commercial pilot in as little as 10 months—without the time or expense of a traditional four-year degree.

How soon can I start after enrollment?

You can begin almost immediately. Once your enrollment is complete and your medical certificate is in hand, and insurance filled out, we’ll match you with an instructor and get your first flight scheduled— often within the same week.

How are TrexAir Instructors selected and trained?

Our instructors are handpicked not only for their flying skills but for their ability to mentor and inspire. Each one is taught the “TAO of TREXAIR” Our curriculum, which covers everything there is to know about being a pilot, and is designed to prepare you for success. Our instructors take their time to ensure every student succeeds, offering patient guidance, personalized training, and the encouragement needed to build both skill and confidence

Do I need prior experience before starting flight training?

Not at all. No prior flight experience is required — just motivation and a love for aviation. From your very first Discovery Flight, TREXAIR instructors will guide you step by step through ground school, flight maneuvers, and certification.

Can I work while attending flight school?

Yes, many students balance training with part-time work or college. We offer flexible scheduling to fit around your life, but flying consistently (2–3 times per week) is recommended to stay sharp and keep your training costs down
